It will appear obvious to you that many of these events are out of date but it gives you an idea of the type of places we go so I thought I'd leave them up for now. I might take them down sometime in 2009 or until I'm relieved of the Server Password. Wayne Davies.

The nuclear bunker at Hack Green was a Regional Government headquarters,
a vast 35000 sq. ft bunker, staffed by 140 government officials at
a time of nuclear conflict. Re-built in the I 980s at a cost of over
£32 million, the self-contained complex had decontamination
facilities, its own power station, water supplies, radio communications,
telephone exchange and much more. Built in secrecy and hidden from
the public until de-classified in 1993. 1998 saw the bunker open for
the first time. Today the bunker is a fantastic cold war heritage
centre where the public can experience for themselves the Governments
preparations for nuclear war with the chance to wander free from display

Last year’s War and Peace show held at the Hop Farm Country
Park in Beltring, Kent was billed as the world’s largest military
vehicles and collectors fair. It featured some 3,500 vehicles along
with 1,000 stalls, many hundreds of living history re-enactors, a
massive events arena with spectacular battle re enactments and many
more attractions for young and old.
Once again the EMLRA attended the show and I can truly say that the
sights there had to be seen to be believed. With military vehicles
stretching across three large fields as far as the eye could see,
there was something of interest for everyone, and far more than a
report such as this can ever do justice.

Coming off the A74 at Moffat and then on to the Selkirk road which is known to be voted one of the top ten driving roads in the UK.
