Show reports for 2004

In case you are wondering where to find EMLRA this year, the Events Officer (Rex Hunt) looks into his green-tinted crystal ball... then puts his marbles away and gets the diary out. All enquiries to (and information supplied by) the Events Officer unless specified otherwise. To book your place on a Club event, send an A4 SAE for each event to Rex Hunt, who will pass them onto the relevant organisers as a block booking. For non-Club displays, you will need to contact the show directly. However, please let Rex know you are going - if enough support for an event materialises then there's a good reason to make it a Club event. All Rex needs is a volunteer Show Manager. Note: You will not have the protection of the Club's Public Liability Insurance at non-Club displays.

As a club, we welcome opportunities to attend events but can only do so if we know about them. Please forward such info to Rex Hunt, either by email or at the following address: (remember to include an SAE if you need paperwork returning).   EMLRA

Howard Smith (an ex Essex Man) invites any EMLRA members who happen to be in the States to another Rover Meet for the Guy Fawkes Weekend, Upstate NY, nr Cooperstown, approx 1hr West of Albany.

Off roading, winching likely, possible snow, probable mud, maybe spannering, serious Land Rover socialising, good grub and ample room for camping etc. No deadline or registration - it's a private affair, just need a heads up for approx numbers so I can get enough beers in!

As with last year, there will be a few EMLRA vehicles on indoor display at the Classic Car Show at the NEC, Birmingham. This is a very limited venue as far as EMLRA vehicles go but if you are a member and are interested then get in touch. There are understandable restrictions placed on those attending, such as being on the display in advance of the public opening and waiting until the show is over before leaving. Bear this in mind and the opening dates of the show.
